Welcome!
Based in Surry County, North Carolina, The Pilot Mountain Bobcats have been entertaining folks with their infectious brand of Appalachian old time string band music since 1989. Whether at a dance, show or fiddler's convention the driving sound of the Bobcats has become legendary! The band featuring Nancy Sluys on Fiddle, Bill Sluys on Upright Bass, Jacki Spector on the clawhammer banjo and Allin Cottrell on guitar has played for many local and regional festivals, dances, fiddler's conventions, concerts and parties over the years. Some of these include Merlefest, Augusta Dance Week and Old Time Week, Feet Retreat, The Eno Festival, Foot Mad, The Home Town Opry, The LEAF Festival, The Voice of the Blue Ridge, The Merry-Go-Round as well as various square and contra dances. Frequenting the local fiddler's conventions, the Bobcats can usually be found jamming in the campground late into the night welcoming all to join in the fun! They have placed in the top 5 in many fiddler's conventions including Galax, Mount Airy, Clifftop, Elk Creek, Fries and others. The Pilot Mountain Bobcats have three recordings (a casette and 2 CDs) and have begun to work on a new project which will be out in the near future.
Please contact the Bobcats for your next dance, festival or event!
